I just watched most of the 2007 American Music Awards on TV, but what I missed, I was able to watch online.

(Not on ABC’s site, mind you – who as of this writing doesn’t have any of the performance videos up yet online but might have the full American Music Awards 2007 show online by the time you read this.)

Anyway, leave it to the YouTubers — once again! — to put up videos of the most interesting happenings.

Beyonce and Sugarland go country together…

Firstly, I’d missed Beyonce and Sugarland’s version of “Irreplaceable” so I’m glad someone put up that video. Nice redux…

Mary J. Blige is back and beautiful!

I liked Mary J. Blige’s performance the most — she was jamming.

Mary J. Blige – Just Fine (2007 American Music Awards)

4 min – Nov 19, 2007

And that “Just Fine” song from her 8th studio album “Growing Pains” (which will be in stores December 18th) was really hittin’ — Mary J. looked so cool and slim in that black get up. God bless her. God love her.

Alicia Keys goes reggae…

Alicia Keys did great, too, with her reggae vibe — Murder, she wrote, murder she wrote…

At first I was like, What is that horn that keeps blowing? But later, Rihanna thanked Alicia Keys for bringing the strong Caribbean vibe…

Watch Fergie on the AMAs…

Fergie did a medley that I just watched. I’m glad to see Fergie coming a long way from the “window dressing” of the Black-Eyed Peas that I first thought she was.

I really wish she would’ve replaced “Fergalicious” with “Glamorous” on this medley, but she redeemed it all with the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” song that made me a real fan of hers — an ode that shows her depth and thoughtfulness:

Fergie at the 94 Annual American Music Award performing medley: Clumsy, Fergalicious, and Big Girls Don’t Cry…

Queen Latifah gave a strong performance with a strong voice, and Chris Daughtry’s acoustic version of “Home” was nice.

Chris Brown
— I love him — I guess I was too hard on his dancing skills on that “Kiss Kiss” joint. He is an amazing 18-year-old talent that I believe will be around for years to come — I believe we’ll be hearing about him for at least 20 more years:

And might I say that Celion Dion looked FABULOUS!

Jimmy Kimmel dancing to “superman dat ho…”

And as far as the Soulja Boy spoof — I just can’t get with that kid because of that “Superman dat ho” line. Yuck.

Yeah, it’s a catchy beat — but the Crank Dat lyrics just…I don’t know…

Rihanna and NeYo’s AMA performance…
…was cute.

The thing I thought was ironic was Rihanna thanked Jay-Z in her acceptance speech, but Beyonce did not thank Jay-Z.

Rihanna thanked him as part of her label people, and I know Beyonce’s probably still trying not to talk about him…

On to the Jonas Brothers and Joe’s fall…
Many people are probably searching for the video of Joe from the Jonas Brothers falling, and wondering whether or not it was a stunt. You’ll see it’s one of the most popularly uploaded videos. But just like a fan wrote about Joe, “he’s still amazing…”

I like those Jonas Brothers, however…God bless ‘em so much for their abstinence and purity-ring wearing beliefs.

The Jonas Brothers are so popular, but I just found out about them recently.

It is SO good to see any young people strong enough to go against the grain of segments of society and just be who they want to be.

And even if they stray, I hope when they’re older they don’t depart from Him…
