Michael Savage Calls Autism Children “Brats” — Let’s look for Michael Savage’s firing soon…
Watch the below video of Michael Savage, a radio guy who had the nerve to call children with autism brats. Here are Michael Savage’s comments about autism:

“You know what autism is? I’ll tell you what autism is in 99% of the cases. It’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is,” Michael Savage said.
Obviously Michael Savage has spent no time around autism…
…or children affected by autism to know its devastating affects and the anguish the parents go thru and hard work of getting therapy to help them improve in a society that can get their behavior all wrong like Michael Savage has.
Thankfully, protests are planned against Michael Savage by autism groups — and I hope he really learns to spend time with children with autism to learn more and gain some empathy…

I would expect nothing less from this agent of hate. I have a son with autism and I can assure you he behaves most of the time and when he does “act up” it’s not because he is willfully misbehaving. He does it because he unable to understand abstract concepts like social boundaries. So, in short, my son acts beyond the norms of society because of his autism. When Michael Savage acts beyond the norms of society, as this case illustrates, what is his excuse?

[...] Michael Savage said, “You know what autism is. I’ll tell you what it is in 99% of the cases. It’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is.” He then went on to say that autism isa result of lax parenting, a fraud and a racket, and labeled the children with autism both idiots and morons. [...]

After stating what his father told him - “not to behave like a fool” - it begs the question why he will not accept his gaffe, unless he assumes that Americans are the “fools”, for no sensible person will buy into his baseless explanations, not even by alleging that his statement was read out of context. I find his statements odious, opprobious, and smacks of a person who is out of touch with an issue that is in the forefront of health debate in our society.

Jenny McCarthy’s response to Savage’s remarks:
Jenny, alongside the many others who have had their lives impacted by autism, was appalled by the statement. What would she like to happen? “I think a great way for an apology is to be sat down and educated about it,” Jenny said. “I’d love to just quietly [sit down with him and] educate him on the facts. It was clear he doesn’t know anything about autism”
