Boy — watch the below “Operation Nice” video from Good Morning America’s “Around the Watercooler” segment today was just what I needed to put the warm feeling back in my heart that came when I took some time to journal this morning in the presence of my Maker in the gorgeous mallard-filled vista of Hinckley Lake Reservation.


“Operation Nice” is nice to see, especially after reading the high-octane vitriol (and even higher-octane funny comments) at the foot of that Sarah Palin Newsweek cover photo post.





GMA featured the Operation Nice website, and how the effort started by the 28-year-old woman named Mel — whose full name I won’t even attempt to butcher right now in print — just seeks to put a smile on various faces throughout the doldrums of a day by offering kind words on cards, and inspiring others to do the same.


I thought about the same thing whilst walking and smiling and offering fellow walkers a “Hi” and them blessing me back with at least a “Good morning…” today, and more helpful hints at finding gorgeous scenic lookout points. That’s the least we can do for one another…
