I was watching The View yesterday, Monday, November 10, 2008 — and the ladies were looking at this below lovely pic below of the Obamas going out for a 3-hour dinner at Spiagga in Chicago. (I was so jealous hearing about a 3 hour dinner with your hubby!)
Anyway, Sherri was commenting about Michelle’s hair being back, and Whoopi made a joke about taking out the hair weave, but I really don’t think Michelle Obama has a hair weave.
But I keep thinking: Even if Michelle Obama did have a hair weave track or two — what’s the big deal? Why do some people deride black women for hair weaves, and not white women who wear hair weaves? To each her own…

I was so interested in the great condition of Michelle Obama’s hair, I Googled and found her hairdresser, Johnny Wright from Frederic Fekkai. (I wonder does he work at a Chicago location?)
Update: I tried the Fekkai Conditioner, and I prefer Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner 12.25 oz.
, which is more moisturizing — the Fekkai stuff felt too drying to my hair…
Here are the products that Michelle Obama’s hairdresser recommends, I even checked the ingredients to make sure they don’t have any bad oils like petroleum or mineral oil — and they don’t!

…I mean, it’s possible, being somewhat of a hair weave connoisseur lately myself — but it’s out now and I’m all into absorbing all these cool tips from the Long Hair Care Forum, like not washing with shampoo that strips our African-American hair too dry, and all into cowashing.
Either way, Michelle Obama is beautiful. I love her mouth when she talks. Smart lady.

Actually Whoopi was speaking in general terms not specifcally referring to Mrs. Obama and may have been ribbing Sherri for her non-stop wig wearing on the show.
