»»»»»»»» Joe Biden Today Show Video About Biden’s Salary – Biden Refinanced His Home 29 Times…
I found the below Today Show video segment about Joe Biden’s real net worth pretty interesting — especially the fact that he refinanced his home 29 times — but I guess you do what you gotta do to get those kids thru college.
The fact that Joe and Jill Biden didn’t give much at all to charity troubles me. I hope they gave more than a hundred bucks or two to their own church at least — but who am I to judge? I just like givers…
And Joe Biden’s updated $319,000 or so annual salary, which includes income from his book sales, no longer puts him in the “working class, middle class” Joe from Scranton category, they say. But this mortgage is $750,000!
Watch the Today Show Video from Friday, October 10, 2008, about Joe Biden’s 2007 income tax returns, Jill Biden’s $60,000 a year salary — and the 29 times refinancing bit:

I cannot say that the charity amount troubles me, because, the amount he gives to charity which is tax deductible – perhaps he does, indeed, give more, but doesn’t report it to “reduce his taxable income” – did anyone ever think about that?
Not to mention, the reporter uses the amount he gave in 1999 to charity, yet doesn’t show what his income was for 1999 – and uses his 2007 $300K income to make the comparison. This is not an accurate, and perhaps deceiving connotation, as well.

He is probably subject to AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) and therefor cannot deduct any charitable contributions–we dont bother putting our contributions on our tax returns as there is no benefit to it.

I don’t make Biden/Obama/McCain/Palin money, few people do ….. well, more than a few make more than the Palins, but they’re still in the top 20% nationwide. In any event, I do okay, and I give very little to charity…does that make me a bad person??????????? Am I to be disqualified for public office because I don’t give money?? I do give time, can’t write that off.

So what a 3 million dollar mortage, did he buy for 3 million or is it now appraised at 3 million.
Im no fan of Joe Biden but really you clowns in the media think your stuff doesnt stink?? lets see how much you gave to charity or alma matter most of you media types are so self cenetred you dont care about others at all
Ann curry – messing with peoples lives just to add an extension to a town home (defintely more than 3 million)
Michele Leone – Producer at Today show owns as many houses as John McCain except she houses people who’s rent is subsidized by the government and kept her grandma alive just to keep the social security money coming in. And has been quoted as saying I dont give to charity let them get their own money.
So if Joe Biden paid for his kids college and now has a mortage to pay for then so be it.
Most liberal in Parkslope Brooklyn Make 300,000 a year and those brownstones have to be selling for at least 1.65 million
so to the media don’t cast stones, you might break your own window

I agree with a citizen. Using today’s Dollars a good private catholic school goes for 20-25k a year. So if you look at a 750k mortgage with 3 kids in school or college at the time and 250k in income. then there is not a lot left over. IF the roughly make 180k after taxes then 1/3 for mortgage 1/3 for school and 1/3 for everything else (bills, food, vacation, cars, care for mother)
I think that he has done a fine job providing for his family and without really profitting from his position…
