Joe Biden’s Net Worth Definitely Places Him Amid Blue Collar Folk…
Update: Here’s more recent info about Joe Biden’s net worth from the Today Show video on October 10, 2008:
Joe Biden’s net worth is less than $150,000, according to the Kansas City Star. However, the National Review says Joe Biden’s net worth would be negative if not for the value and equity in his home.
The National Review gives even more details about Joe Biden’s net worth, house and debt, writing:
Will Joe Biden sell his home now? I don’t know — do vice presidents live in the White House?

Joe Biden makes at least 5 times as much as my wife and I make and we have a net worth much higher than what Biden reports. He either uses the laws he has helped write for the last 35 years in the Senate to hide his worth, like putting everything in his wife or childrens name, or he isn’t very good at budgeting his income. Both options highlite the type of person we don’t need telling us how to live our lives.

Keep in mind that he’s raised two families and has commuted to DC most days. It does not surprise me that in Delaware a Senate salary plus his wife’s has not accrued a fortune. In fact his “wealth” appear similar to Alaska’s Senator Stevens who has been a Senator a decade longer than has Biden.

There is no way that Joe Biden is only worth 150,000k. His senate salary is over $165,000. his house is worth over $1,000,000, the only way he is worth only $150,000 is if he is in debt over his head . If this is the case ,How can he be ready to run a country if he can’t manage his finances. Look at his latest financial report and keep in mind that he has to list the lowest not the highest amounts. The between amounts i.e.$1000 t0 15,000 make these financial disclosures bogas. Just look at his tax sheltered annuities.

The reason why Joe Bidens Net Worth is so 150K is because he took a mortgage on his house to send kid to college. If thats not a caring middle class father, I don’t no what is.

I challenge Joe Biden to reveal what his wife’s and children’s net worth is. I would be shocked if his entire immediate family is not wealthy.

Any body with any common sense would know that Biden’s net worth has to be far and above $150k. An average person who has worked in the same field for 30+ years and making a third of what Biden makes would have a new worth far exceeding $150k if they had any financial skills at all. Either Biden is hiding his assest in his wife’s name or children’s names, or he is totally fiscally irresponsible. In either case, is this the type of person we want leading the country?

Yeah, but even if he is hiding his assets with his wife and kids, he’s no smarter than any other Senator…which means they are all probably doing the same thing…which means he’s still one of the poorest senators…relatively speaking….

Don’t know where you guys live. A $150,000 salary doesn’t go far where Biden lives in the Northeast Corridor between Washington DC and Boston. Think about it, you can have a $500,000 mortgage with equity of $400,000 and your net worth is a negative $100,000. No one knows the true value of their home until they sell it.

Also, don’t forget that members of Congress get pensions for life after they retire. He doesn’t need a 401k like someone else.
I think it is amazing that Joe Biden really IS a regular Joe. Is it so impossible to believe that a politician really isn’t rich? And how admirable to pay for your children’s college. Bravo, Joe!

I was drawn to this 150k net worth of Biden’s as a concern. In the disclosure of net worth. primary residence was excluded in the criteria. Which was brought up in Sen. Obama owing more on his house then his net worth. Biden also likely owes more on his house then his net worth as well. The reports are showing that no matter who wins this race the VP will be one of poorest in history.
As far as hiding your wealth and assets goes, politics in washington are usually run by the rich and the super rich. Money lends credibility, it is very unlikely for a man to lie on his holdings when his credibility as a candidate would be partially based on his ability to manage his own life.
Biden’s investments are very conservative showing a lack of understanding in financial management, or an extreme aversion to risk. Either way it is undesireable for a person in leadership. To be given a cash advance for more then 100k and to only have about 100k is kinda iffy at best.
It is a great thing to put a child through college but how much did that actually cost him? 10 or 15 million? that would be what one would expect of a long time senator entrusted to turn around our economy.
On that note, with both Obama and Biden being the least financially successful candidates to run for president this year. It amazes me that more then 50% of voters seem to think that a person just like them can turn over washington and fix the countries economy. When the average american is so far in debt that they can no longer get credit cards to cover the interest on their other cards, do we really want to elect a candidate just like us.
Biden and Obama have very sorry bank statements, although I would have to hand it to them. If they are on the take from special interest groups they sure know how to hide any evidence of affluence.
I’m voting for mccain/palin both of whom have actually balanced their own check books. I think if you don’t even know how to manage a few hundred thousand a year, how do you propose to manage trillions. Theory is great but why not try your grand spending practices at home and come back when you have a profit margin to show us.

Sorry Jeramy,
I’m a longtime Republican but I wouldn’t vote for Sarah Palin for dog catcher. The woman is an empty suit without a brain cell between her ears. No way do I want her heading the free world! There was a time when the Republican Party really stood for intellectual strength and conservative ideals…Alas, it is no longer……The Party is lost in the wilderness, apparently Alaskan wilderness.
You criticize Obama and Biden for fiscal stewardship while the Republicans since 1980 have run our debt up to $11 Trillion dollars? Dude…wake up. The Republicans no longer represent the true conservative ideals of giants like Goldwater, Rockefeller or W.F. Buckley. These “new” poser Repulblicans are represented by mental midgets that spend like an old fashioned liberals having a wet dream. These same Republicans also invade our civil liberties like Nazi wannabee’s.
I’m begrudgingly voting for Obama. The Republicans need to be slaughtered in November so they will be forced to do some soul searching and return to their true conservative roots.
