»»»»»»» Ginn Academy Cleveland, Ohio, School for At-Risk Boys a Success in Red Jackets…
by Paula Neal Mooney
I just watched the most inspiring story about Ginn Academy — a Cleveland, Ohio, high-school for at-risk boys — on CBS Sunday Morning.
(Hopefully CBS will put the video of Ginn Academy online soon here on their CBS News video page, if not, we can always check YouTube to see if someone puts up a Ginn Academy video there…)
So inspiring was the report about Ginn Academy that a tear streamed down the side of my face as I learned of Ginn Academy founder Ted Ginn, Sr.’s success with speaking positivity and boldness of life into these young men — that I’m thinking: Can we create a Ginn Academy for girls?
Can I go volunteer there for an hour or two a week?
Can I go teach English or computer skills to these young people?
Ted Ginn, Sr., is obviously blessed with a gift from God to turn lives around for the better — and I couldn’t help but wonder about him and the Cleveland school head: Do they go to my church? The Word Church in Warrensville Heights?
Anyway, God bless ‘em and love ‘em for the great work being done…
