Friends Movie Gossip Continues - Why I believe Warner Bros. is making a Friends reunion movie…

A cursory glance at Google Trends today shows that “Friends movie, Friends the Movie, Friends, Friends Film, David Schwimmer, Michel Sussman” searches are all hot today.

But this time I believe the Friends movie scuttle-butt are more than rumors.





Being a webmaster, I naturally checked on FriendsTheMovie.com and FriendsMovie.com domains.


It’s interesting — because while FriendsMovie.com goes to some parked page full of ads, obviously purchased by a webmaster like me just trying to make a great living, FriendsTheMovie.com redirects directly to Warner Brothers’ website.


If just your average dot commer had bought FriendsTheMovie.com, he or she wouldn’t redirect to Warner Bros. site, unless it was their affiliate Warner Bros. program — and that doesn’t look like the case to me.


Checking the “who is” registration of who registered the FriendsTheMovie.com domain name, you’ll see that it was registered on 9-25-2007 for two years.


Movie studios like Warner Bros. usually don’t have the foresight to register domain names like FriendsTheMovie.com unless they know they are making the actual movie. Individuals often grab those domain names first … but in this case, I think Warner Bros. was smart enough to grab it, because they knew before all us webmasters that a Friends film had been greenlit.
