I hope the Plumpynut 60 Minutes video plays for you, however, because I watched the amazing story on “60 Minutes” last night and vowed to look up more about substance given to starving children by the amazing Doctors Without Borders organization.

I was searching to find out where to buy the Plumpy’nut, and this PDF file says agencies can buy Plumpy’nut directly from Nutriset, so I might have to find an organization that already uses it.

Hopefully plenty of places will offer the Plumpy’nut to starving kids all across the globe. It’s really helping…

ABC had their 20/20 “Prostitution in America” special, and here’s video of that prostitution report online.

I watched 20/20’s “Prostitution in America” special on TV last night — all 2 hours of it — and it was fascinating.

I kept thinking of how blessed I am and how bad some women have it in life, and how much I want to help them.

Drugs were heavily involved in the prostitution life, a life that took Diane Sawyer and her team two years to chronicle.

Missing and Stabbed Prostitutes, Drugs…All Chronicled on 20/20

Even at the so-called higher end places like the Bunny Ranch in Nevada, where prostitution is legal, one prostitute admitted there are women using heroin, cocaine and/or popping three Xanax pills a day.

The homeless women showed Diane a house that they squat in that’s freezing cold — and even showed her the nasty bathtub where they poop and pee.

Another woman involved in prostitution talked about the guy who asked her to step on a baby kitten while he jacked off. Truly nasty, evil stuff.

Another got her teeth knocked out by her husband — they were the couple called Ken and Barbie — and she was the one hooking to support their drug habit.

Another disappeared…

Another showed Diane Sawyer photos of her million-dollar manse she was building. But she returned to the Bunny Ranch.

I think that was the same one where a guy paid $17,000 just to spend one night with her.

Heartbreaking stuff.

Online Prostitution Places that Hurt, Places that Heal

I was surprised at the woman who got online and showed some site that had women in business attire but when you click further, you get details of how to hook up with the prostitutes online.

However, I’m glad to see they’ve got these Online Resources to Help End Sexual Exploitation, because some of those women looked so so so young.

Many of them — anywhere from 60 – 90% — of them had been sexually abused when they were young.

They showed the life of pimps, and talked about how their glamorized lifestyles make some misled men want to be like them, along with movies that make their plights more sympathetic.

I agree with the solution that the Johns should be penalized waaaay more than they are now, instead of the women trying to make it by albeit a sad solution.

The high-end call girl was fascinating.

She spoke of one man offering her $2.9 million for just sex with her for the full year, but she didn’t want to give up control of her life to him. Now she has about 7 or so men that she provides sex to, and can make maybe $200,000 or more each year. She wouldn’t give more specifics.

I’m glad Diane Sawyer closed the broadcast with the words of Jesus told to the crowd prosecuting the woman caught in the act of adultery and threatened with stoning:

“If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

2008 promises to be much better, since I’m learning more of what works with how to pitch products online, make money blogging, and which places pay well and which ones don’t. Same stuff the moms (and hubbies) searching hot and heavy for “Rat Race Rebellion” today want to know.

Make Money Teaching Online

The woman who mentioned the rat race rebellion was Danielle Babb, author of Make Money Teaching Online: How to Land Your First Academic Job, Build Credibility, and Earn a Six-Figure Salary.

She talked about working 70 hours per week herself, but at least she was honest.

Dr. Danielle Babb talked about teaching soldiers in Iraq online, or becoming a personal assistant for various folks since you’re running around doing errands all day anyway.

Her book covers what kind of credentials you need to teach online and do some of this other stuff.

And she said that Rat Race Rebellion’s website has jobs-a-plenty listed for stay-at-home moms and anyone who just wants to check it out.

I got on the rat race rebellion website, but didn’t get time to search around much. So busy am I picking up kids and doing my online work…

Open about their online income — just like I am, so much so that I post the $1,000-plus per month (and growing, thank my provider) that I make off Google ads and more on my websites — the “Gray Googlers” earnings are broken down as such:

	Jerry Alonzy’s Natural Handyman website makes the 57-year-old $120,000 a year in Google advertising income.
	Hope Pryor’s Cooks Recipes site earns nearly $90,000 yearly, mainly from Google ads. Last December alone, she made $30,000 from Google.
	The 75-year-old retiree Jerrold Foutz makes $25,000 a year from the Google ads on his SMPS technology website, equal to his Boeing retirement check.

These Gray Googlers are so inspiring, I told my 86-year-old brilliant dad who hipped me to the whole pay-per-click money-making thing to go to Blogger.com and try his hand at starting a free website and loading up Google ads on it to see if he can make some money.

This is my passion, of course — I love writing on this website and my other ones.

And I love encouraging folks who are technically inclined (even if they don’t think they are) to try it and see what develops.

Of course, not everyone’s gonna get rich overnight thru blogging, but if you think you have the time and a great niche idea for a website, like my black gospel music song lyrics site — or whatever your thing is, give it a try.

I read somewhere that companies are planning to spend $300 billion in web advertising next year. I figure we all may as well get our piece of the pie!

I couldn’t even blog about him.

I didn’t want more cyber folks staring at Dede like in the freak show the 35-year-old participates in to make money and ends meet.

But now Jehovah Rapha has touched Dede with hope of being healed from the horrible growths, a result of HPV, says a doctor.

How Should High Schoolers Spend Two Million Minutes?

Should American high school students spend leisure time with friends, socializing and in extra-curricular activities such as sports?

Or should they just hit the books to try and compete in a global market in decades to come?

I believe life requires balance.

Whatever we’re gifted to do, we should pursue.

Just look at high school dropout Bill Gates.

I’ve considered writing about watching Joyce Meyer’s Enjoying Everyday Life free videos online like this one called ‘Power Releases Authority’ for some time now but hesitated.

Instead, I put the idea of blogging about watching all these Joyce Meyer Enjoying Everyday Life free videos online on hold, backburning them in my mind in favor of hot, new and highly-searched for shows to watch online like Gossip Girl.






Why did I wait to write about watching Joyce Meyer’s Enjoying Everyday Life?

As my number of readers grew in leaps and bounds, I became more aware that non-believers may be reading these words.

Playing nice, I tended to mix the innocuous with the worldly — then threw a dash of straight-up Gospel in there once in a blue moon.

After all, as I asked myself:

Who are they?

Are they Christians?






Who is Joyce Meyer and how did The Father use her to prevent my death?

Back in 1996, when my friend first hipped me to watching Joyce Meyer as her program aired (back then called Life in the Word) in the mornings on BET, we didn’t even know her name.

We called her “The Lady.”

“Did you catch ‘The Lady’ this morning?” we’d ask one another after we made it to work that day.

We’d go on and on about Joyce Meyer’s honest revelations of being sexually abused by her own father — and other down-to-earth confessions that made her different and more powerful than other Christian speakers.

In the last 11 years, God has used her powerfully to help me thru some rough times — dark periods when I’d drive around town, my eyes feeling like they needed to be propped open by toothpicks as the effects of painkillers, suicidal thoughts and new motherhood sleeplessness could’ve killed me.

I’d pop in a Joyce Meyer tape or CD akin to Are You Too Busy? and somehow feel my soul lifted out of the doldrums of depression that threatened to consume me alive that day.






What does all this have to do with my websites?

Lately, I started to feel like I was stretching a little too far from home base.

Jesus did say things about being in the world, but not of it — so I walked the line, and obviously crossed it — from the signs and wonders I’ve seen lately:

A prayer warrior looked me straight in the eyes the other day and said, “God is saying, ‘Come out of the world…Reposition Yourself.’” (I finally bought the book Saturday night after “accidentally” spilling tea on it in Barnes and Noble.)

Nancy Leigh DeMoss spoke a powerful word about repentance and Brokenness: The Heart God Revives (Revive Our Hearts) this morning that cut to the marrow of my soul: “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

So I gave up on all the excuses and faulty logic that doesn’t fly with God — like “People should police their own children,” yada yada yada…

I deleted a few open doors and windows to the devil that J. Moss sings about in the ‘Livin’ 4′ song I’ve listened to a lot lately.

And I decided to write this post — the world be saved.

I know enough to realize that the Lord demands actions from me so that He knows I’m taking his correction seriously. That this is my more-than-blithe attempt to get back to Him, and our time together of listening to XM 33:The Spirit and chilling out watching Bishop T.D. Jakes and such, instead of racing around town flipping thru CNN, ABC News, The Tom Joyner Morning Show, Warren Ballentine and E to catch the latest-breaking news to blog about…






The $40,000 reward that Jehovah Jireh gave last time I repented…

So God is faithful.

I know that deleting blog posts and products that could’ve made me more money were just ill gotten gain. Will He lead me to delete more? God give me strength to do Your will alone…

And what He gives me in return is always better. Like peace of mind — and less nightmares.

Like back in 2000, when I’d self-published a racy novel that I was trying to sell. My mom had died unexpectedly and I’d finally come to church and knelt on the altar and basically told Jesus that I really need Him.

We were also trying to sell our house in Ohio, with no serious takers up till that point.

On Saturday, April 22, 2000, the dream giver (Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams…) gave me the nightmare of my life back then — around 2 a.m. the day of my 31st birthday — during which Satan smiled at me because I was doing evil work for him.

That Monday — Easter Monday, as it were — when we returned to Ohio, I tossed away all the copies of the book left over. That same week we got an offer and sold our Ohio home, enabling us to move to Paradise Valley in Fairfield, California.

There we were able to buy the actual house pictured above for $320,000 — then flip it for $360,000 a little over a year later, granting us a blessed $40,000-plus profit.

I know God rewarded me for obedience. After all, He says that obedience is better than sacrifice.






What’s next for the blogs?

Who knows. The Lord of Hosts is a wild one.

He’s Wild at Heart, like the aptly titled book I’m finally finding the time to read now.

I may post tomorrow. I may delete this website tomorrow. He alone knows.

Kind of a scary thought, seeing as though He’s had me rearrange some things financially that worldly logic would dictate the necessity to grab every advertising dollar I can. Yet He gives it all back a thousand fold…

But I’m delighting in Him right now. Ranting at Him other days. Drawing near to Him, because He promises He’ll draw near to me when I do.

And I’m holding on to another dream I had last night:

I’d collapsed on the couch, back in a new apartment or hotel, wondering if I should put up the link on my blog to my recent appearance on The Oprah Show.

Your will be done, Daddy. Your will be done…

It was pretty cool to watch this video about finding out who has Googled or is Googling you, your proper name, that is.

And not just because the news report about reverse Google lookup is from my sweet home Chicago, but because trying to find out who Googled me is something I do often.

Who’s Googling you?

The news report mentioned a few websites to help try and track down who’s Googling you:

3 – Ziggs

I’ve never tried those sites, but I have used the following techniques to try and track down who’s Googling me.

More ways to track down who Googled you

I’m used to seeing people Google my name pretty much daily, just because I have such a strong web presence and websites with my name on them.

I use the free StatCounter.com — a great site that gives me free code to put on my websites, then gives me real-time search terms people have typed in to find me.

Like the video says, from this info you don’t get proper names, but you will get a city, state, or even international location — including the IP (or internet protocol) address of the person Googling you.

And I’ve seen the person’s place of employment come thru at times as well.

One time I found on that someone from Google themselves had Googled me!

Reverse Google Lookup?

It would be cool if it were as easy as hitting *69 on our phones, but it’s not. I’ve yet to find an actual name of a person from an IP address, but there are Whois IP address look up search tools like this one that will at least give you more info.

For example, I just popped in someone’s IP address and found out they were from Duke University.

Maybe only super-techies and the FBI have ways of getting down to specific Googler locations, but it may give you a better idea of who your frequent Googlers might be.

In the meantime, it’s always a good idea to set up your own free blog on Blogger.com or somewhere with your name in the title and URL (the dot com name) just so you can get a little control of your own name online.

And another good way to find out who’s at least writing about you online, if you have a not-so-common name like mine, that is, is to set up a Google Alert with your name in it.

For example, I have a bunch of Google Alerts set up to email me right away with a lot of search terms I’m interested in: Two of which are “Paula Mooney” and “Paula Neal Mooney” — just to know what’s going on.

And it doesn’t hurt to Google your own name once and a while.

Hopefully all these tips will help you come closer to finding out who’s Googling you…

But I was so engrossed in the story of Adrienne Hickson, a smart, black, upper middle class law student who “Snapped” and stabbed her boyfriend and killed him.

She ended up getting five years in prison.

20/20 Video of Tori Spelling Talking About Her New Book

I watched with rapt attention last night when Tori Spelling was interviewed on 20/20 (watch video here) about her new book called sTORI Telling.

Tori Spelling’s Mom, Debt and 90210 Drama…

The saddest part of growing up — despite being ultra rich — was when Tori confessed that as a little girl she asked her mom, Candy Spelling, if she was pretty.

“You will be when you get a nose job,” came the reply from Candy.

Ouch.

Tori said she saw her mother ordering 10 items out of a catalogue in every single color, so she grew up with the same thought process.

Her parents stopped paying her bills when she was around 17, but that was okay because Aaron Spelling had given his daughter a job on Beverly Hills 90210 that lasted around a decade.

About her 90210 castmates, Tori would only say that everybody slept with everybody else — without naming names.

Tori didn’t want to expose other people’s love lives in the book.

Tori Spelling’s $100,000-plus Debt, Adultery and Comeback

When the hit show ended, Tori had gotten herself in “hundreds of thousands of dollars” worth of debt — and I appreciate the fact that instead of calling her daddy, she got to work doing any and everything she could on TV to make money.

Before he died, Aaron Spelling talked with his business managers and told Tori she was getting around $800,000 for an inheritance.

A lot of money for the average person, for sure, but seeing as though Aaron Spelling’s estate was worth around half a billion dollars, Tori’s cut was relatively low in comparison.

So the bulk of that money went to Candy, whom Tori said doesn’t support her own grandchildren monetarily.

I don’t understand why there’s such a wedge between mother and daughter…

Tori had a fabulous wedding to one guy named Charlie, had her marital affair with a costar exposed in the tabloids, divorced and then married Dean McDermott.

Let’s hope that family lives happily ever after…and that Tori and mom can reconcile truly.

Now I know what Warren Ballentine (black radio host of XM station) was going off about this morning.

Anyway, now here’s a short snippet video of Chris Matthews apologizing for the Osama / Obama “accident” of putting up that pic.

Funny how Chris Matthews — normally so hard and direct — doesn’t say “Oops, we confused Obama with Osama” admittedly easy names to mix up — but just calls it a “graphic” over his shoulder.

Weird, indeed…

That same website is live-blogging the Roger Clemens testimony, as well as having the near 10-minute video up.

Of course Clemens is denying taking HGH, but he says the Mitchell Report is not entirely wrong.

But Clemens says his name is ruined.

McNamee insists he injected Clemens with performance-enhancing drugs.

Jordan talks about his fear and describes her convulsing before he called his friend, whom he says dumped Natalee’s body in the water, never to be found.

I can’t imagine her parents watching his callousness in the hidden video.

Especially when van der Eem tells Jordan that she could’ve just been in a coma.

May we all repent for our sins in Jesus’ Name before its too late…

They were mimicking what some stars in Hollywood have to go thru to get down to a size zero or double zero — and you can see it ain’t easy.

Nor is it healthy.

Instead of all that extreme anorexic stuff, I’m glad my sister hipped me to a book called The Overfed Head: What If Everything You Know About Weight Loss Is Wrong?.

It makes so much sense and just takes the pressure off of trying to diet and count calories and guilt myself for eating that chocolate-covered graham cracker I just ate from Caribou…

I’ve been known to sport a hair weave or two, but probably nothing like the “temple hair” featured in the video.

In the meantime, I’m looking for the extended video that the reporter references that should be up soon on MSNBC…

CBS has a 6-plus-minute video up of “In God’s Name,” a video that I watched the first few minutes of, as differing faith leaders spoke about the 9/11 tragedy.

One man said that being so close to the World Trade Center on the day it collapsed made him begin thinking of life and death and the meaning of it all.

It’s eye-opening to see the millions of Muslims and Buddhists worldwide.

Since the Christians are broken down by denomination, I pulled the list into an Excel spreadsheet to figure out that there are 1.5 billion Christians across the world.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Of course, being a believer in Christ, I’m glad about that.

And yet I still love learning about the other faiths and their viewpoints and beliefs.

Specials like this are good to foster understanding with each other.

The world could use a lot more connection and less yelling.

But then again, Jesus did say that he didn’t come for peace, but for division.

Mother-in-law against daughter-in-law. Father against son.

Separating the wheat from the chaff kind of thing.

Hope to God I’m the gathered wheat and not the burnt chaff…

What did Will Smith say about Hitler?

In an interview with the Daily Record, Will Smith said these words about Hitler:

“Even Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘let me do the most evil thing I can do today’,” said Will. “I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good’. Stuff like that just needs reprogramming.

How have Will Smith’s Hitler remarks been twisted?

Now if you Google “Will Smith Hitler” today, you’ll get an array of knee-jerk emotionalized Will Smith-hating bloggers with hyper-active titles like “Will Smith says Hitler was good” and the like.

This is why people don’t trust bloggers as reputable journalists.

Hopefully Will Smith’s interview with the Daily Record was video-taped (or at least audio-taped — Siobhan Synnot, did you bring your camcorder? If so, please hit me up with a link, ASAP!) — because if folks can’t read what the man actually said in writing, maybe they can listen to it and calm down.

Of course the Holocaust was horrible.

Of course Hitler was a Satan-influenced madman.

Of course many people suffered.

Will Smith did not say the things Hitler did were good. Will Smith said Hitler thought he was doing the right thing.

Obviously, he wasn’t.

Watching the video of Ann Curry bungee jumping reminded me of old footage of black men in Africa who first tied the ropes to themselves and guesstimated the proper length of the ropes before jumping off structures, sometimes overestimating and crashing their heads into the ground.

It’s all a feat of human will…covered by grace.

I felt good when they said that Ann Curry’s bungee jump was not just about proving something to herself, but that she raised about $50,000 for children’s charities in the process.

So Ann Curry’s bungee jump video in England has almost inspired me to try something similar.

Almost…maybe…maybe I’ll just give instead…

Writers’ strike news report videos

Being a writer, I totally understand the scribes’ desire to get their money from streaming episodes we like watching online.

The writers who went on strike years ago only got a small portion of DVD sales, so these modern-day writers say they’re not making the same mistake with online revenue.

David Letterman and Conan O’Brien may begin production…

…despite the writers’ strike, so goes the rumors. We shall see.

If anything, the writers’ strike is showing me how much I’m addicted to TV and need to get out more and talk to non-celluloid folks.

But the reality shows and game shows and documentaries and news videos will have to keep us going for now till this strike has come to a good resolution.

I’ve decided to not post any “scab for hire” notices. I’m all for these TV writers getting their just due…

Eat This, Not That is claiming that some of the meat we eat in one sitting is enough for four days.

Based on the new book Eat This Not That: Thousands of Simple Food Swaps That Can Save You 10, 20, 30 Pounds-or More!, the video interview says that the book will name names of the fast food joints that are loading us up with calories.

Right now they’re talking about Quiznos and such.

I don’t know.

I’m just grateful we’ve got food in our bellies…
