This morning the promo for Help!, The Beatles’ new DVD, came on TV.

I began singing straight-away those familiar words:

I love that Beatle stuff, even though I wasn’t even born when they first hit the U.S.

I’m kinda partial to the “Strawberry Fields” chemically-enhanced era — but the original songs that made them famous are the best, too. “Hey Jude…don’t make it bad…” or “Yesterday…” or “Mother Mary comes to me…speaking words of wisdom…let it be…”

With their long hair and distinctive style and voices and lyrics, The Beatles were destined for greatness.

I understand why the kids of their generation were bowled over by the four guys from across the pond — so different than anything else going on around the world at the time.

The Beatles’ Help! DVD proves that folks who didn’t even grow up during that era can appreciate and love the music just as much as those who did.

And since the Beatles’ new Help! movie has been restored and enhanced, younger generations just might catch on to the Fab Four like never before…
